So uh. I did the thing! Most of you know, but I love @mychemicalromance a whole ton and am ridiculously excited for their reunion tour. My friend and I ended up getting tickets to two different shows and in our excitement we decided to pull together an MCR inspired group at Katsucon to pay tribute to some of @gerardway iconic looks. I knew immediately I wanted to do a look focused on the Helena music video and the photoshoots from that time period! This look got a ridiculous amount of love at the actual con, and it was so so much fun to get to speak to other fans about our excitement. I really enjoyed the entire experience, and I got some rad photos from it! Also I’m excited to have a velvet blazer, an MCR armband, and the bat belt in my closet now. 😍👌

Once @thefivewitswigs mentioned having an idol/musical look contest I knew it was time to reveal the first photo! I used their wig Onerous Strapping Hermit Hunk, and it was a little heartbreaking to douse it in hairspray and make it stringy looking when their wigs are so nice haha. I was very crunchy by the end but that wig stayed in place even in the wind 👌👌👌

I’m not usually one for this type of cosplay, but I’ve always admired the Black Parade cosplayers I’ve seen at cons. I’m really glad I did this!! 😊

We wanna see your face and body paint and makeup skills this time around; show us your favorite character with skeleton facepaint, paint your spookiest jack-o-lantern face and throw on your fave orange wig, paint on some of Sally's creepy Nightmare Before Christmas big eyes and stitches... we wanna see it all!

Here's a quick lil wig break to talk about a couple of things!

First of all, we wanted to thank you so much for supporting us through everything these past ~18 years, but especially throughout all the ups and downs of 2020. We couldn't exist the way we do without your encouragement, enthusiasm, and continued creative cosplay (we love to see your work and tags!)

We've known Ariel Hardy for over a decade on the convention circuit and have watched her kids grow up. They've sold #nerdy #tees and other cool stuff and currently have a podcast called Scared Shirtless and an awesome line of tees and merchandise. Friends, we've been SO busy this year, and we're closer than we've ever been to getting our own home, after a decade of rentals, roommates, homelessness, and living on the road. Our bank is asking for a 20% deposit instead of the 10% we expected, and we're just not quite there yet.

Our dear, dear friends @magicalgirlsoapco and @plentyosocks joined forces and started this #gofundmecampaign for us! Apparently it's going quite well, but with about a week to go, we're putting this out there for a boost.

Getting this home means our kids get their own rooms. Oldest kiddo gets an amazing kitchen to hone the skills that will be needed for his #dream of #baking for #disney. Youngest needs tons of #sensoryplay, and this place has the space he needs. We'll also have dedicated office and studio space, meaning room to grow the businesses we've built since COVID killed our jobs back in March.

A significant part of having that space will be the ability to finish our beloved show at long last! We have sooooooo many projects in the pipeline, too.

If you can help, please do - every little bit makes a difference! If you'll share the #campaign with everyone you know, that'll help even more. Most of you know us from #animeconvention life. We sure miss you all.

WINTER IS HERE!
Heading to Steel City Con today before seeing the premier for the final season of Game of Thrones tonight. So I figured it was the perfect time to break out my Sansa Stark cosplay again. - NAACP: "Your donation to the NAACP helps further our mission to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination."

- ACLU: "The ACLU has been at the center of nearly every major civil liberties battle in the U.S. for over 100 years. This vital work depends on the support of ACLU members in all 50 states and beyond."

- Black Trans Femmes in the Arts: "The mission of the BTFA Collective is to connect the community of black trans women and non-binary femmes in the arts & to build power among ourselves."

- Juxtaposition Arts: "JXTA is a teen-staffed art and design center, gallery, retail shop, and artists’ studio space in North Minneapolis. Since the uprisings in Minneapolis began, JXTA has played a critical role in building community alternatives to the police, led by Black, POCI and other youth who are already building the abundant and just future they envision."

It's not enough to just not be racist - we have to be anti-racist, which also means having difficult conversations and paying attention to the things we may have learned incorrectly and unlearning them. We've seen this document passed around, and it has a lot of resources to educate.
